Passenger Station Re-Revisited

With site prep complete I moved on to the building itself.

As noted before, the building is a modified Life Like Police Station with roughly 1/5th of the front/rear walls removed so it fits between the siding and the main.  In line with the renaming of the fire station, the passenger station has now been renamed Metallikahmish Bay Station.

The city of Port Pacific will be located on a separate module.

To match up the platform side of the building with the front, I raised the wall on the platform side and added the same detailing as is present on the front wall roof line.

I also cut out a big doorway in the platform side of the building and added freight doors.

The small door/windows on the same side of the building will lead to the Iron Horse Restaurant - an homage to the cafe of the same name that went out of business in Seattle in 2000.

The building was repainted in dark green and gray with white detailing and tan doors.  To add contrast I painted the platform a dark gray.

Finally, I added a clock tower using a wind up Chairman Mao watch I picked up in Hong Kong as the clock.

Fuzhou, China is the sister city of Metallikhamish Bay, and the clock (complete with waving arm) was a gift from Fuzhou in honor of the Metallikahmish Bay Centennial in 2004.

In the wrap up phase I'll mirror the rooftop detail on top of the clock tower, add platform roofs and passengers and mark off the loading zones in front of the building.  Finally, I'll paint up a couple of city busses and a couple of taxicabs to complete the scene.
