HWPS Construction Resumes

Back to work on HWPS.  The inspiration for this slaughterhouse/meat packing facility is a combination of the Schwann delivery trucks bringing frozen food to the house when I was a kid - combined with the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.  Add in a bit of unusual livestock for the meat supply (penguins, pigs and panda bears) and you get HWPS.

In the last update the building was mocked up using custom cut pieces of another For Rent sign procured at Fred Meyer.  From there it has been pieced together one wall at a time and painted in blue and tan as each wall was finished.

In a twist, in finalizing construction I started with a few key walls for support - working my way down from the roof.  The ramp leading up to the fourth floor parking lot has sides made from the base of an Atlas bridge.

Opening doors ended to the south end, as when the portable staging yard is attached this is a through track.

Old fashioned mural added to the end, first round of paint layered on and the 'concrete' guardrails added around most of the roof and painted blue.

West walls added - with a deodorant cap as the template for the screen-backed oversize windows.  Northlake Tavern is just across the alley and will make custom panda and penguin pizzas upon request.

External bracing added to the east wall, vehicles parked on the freshly striped roof and the Slaughterhouse Five food court vehicles in place along the east wall.

Final detail will include a palm tree/beach painted on the food court wall, the addition of tables, chairs & people and the detailing of the vehicles.  Will also add an elevator equipment room and water tower to the roof.  Finally I'll add the livestock loading ramps on the west side.

For now it's done.
